She was born in Reihen, Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, Baden-Wurttemberg.
Research in 2019 by Reinhard Lackner in Ittlingen has uncovered her parents in her 16 May 1824 baptism record in a church book. Her father was Georg David Speer (1789-19 Nov 1842). He was described as a "civilian" and "stove setting master" (translation?). Her mother was Friederike Voll (1789-1831). She had at least one brother, Johann Jacob Speer (1819-1867).
Her grandparents were Johann "Valentin" Speer (born 1745 and son of David and Catharina Esther Speer) and Johanna "Rosina" Hoffarths, who married 7 May 1776 in Waldangellock, Baden, Prussia.
Note that there is another Christina Speer in the German records about the same time.
The Lackners lived in NYC about 18 years before moving to Jersey City, NJ about 1868. They had five known children born in NYC. She was survived by John Mathias Lackner, William Lackner, and Emma Lackner Schedler Trimph. Daughters Anna and Elizabeth died young and are buried here. A son Louis was listed with the family in 1870 but not 1880. I suspect that "Louis" was in fact William because no other record has been found for him and the birth year is the same.
It is unclear if her family graves are unmarked or if they have now illegible stones.
