Shirley Ann Merrifield Floyd Downs was born February 8, 1937, in Dallas County, the daughter of Aline True (McKissick) and William Ralph Merrifield. She passed away January 28, 2013, at age 75. Shirley attended Duncanville schools. She is preceded in death by her husband, Guy Raymond Floyd; sister, Dorothy Powers; and brother, Daniel Merrifield. She is survived by two sons, Ray Floyd and Michael Floyd; two daughters, Deborah Bell and Sandra Solsbury; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters, Edna Faye Oldham, Mary Belle Brackenridge, Susie Bosher, and Martha Arnold; and two brothers, Buddy Merrifield and Johnny Merrifield. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, February 4, 2013, at Wheatland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
