He was raised in Roanoke and retired to Florida.
Mr. Ward was a steamfitter who worked all over the country including the DEW line in Alaska and nuclear plants in Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William G. Ward and Beulah Ward, his wife Belvia Ward, and a brother Herbert Ward.
He is survived by his sister, Mildred Campbell of California, nephews; William D. Ward (Sue), of Moneta, VA, Dale Ward (Barbara) of Salem, VA, nieces; Endra Ward of Roanoke, and Carmen Campbell Guarino (David) of California, good friend, Harold Rose, and many other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held at the Abbey of Sherwood Memorial Park 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, the family will receive friends there for one hour prior to the service and Hal Rose will officiate.
