Delta T. Grimm, of Lancaster, New York, formerly of Little Chute, age 91, peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at Hospice and Palliative Center, Cheektowaga, New York. She was born July 14, 1913 in Little Chute, daughter of the late John J. and Antonette (Van Domelen) Van Handel. Della married Elmer Grimm on August 31, 1936. Della was employed by the Little Chute School District for many years as a secretary.

She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute and a charter member and first treasurer of St. John Mission Club where she enjoyed going on Wednesdays to work and visit with friends before moving to New York in 2002. At one time, Della and her husband were avid archers, and in 1951, she and Elmer were the Wisconsin Target Archery Champions. She was a life member and former secretary of Fox Valley Archers and a member of Wisconsin Archers Association. In later years, Della became interested in her family history and enjoyed researching her heritage and sharing it with other family members. She was a member of Fox Valley Genealogical Society, Wisconsin State Genealogical Society, State Historical Society of Wisconsin, Appleton Heritage Society and Dutch Heritage Society. She also belonged to Little Chute Golden Agers, American Legion Auxiliary #258 and St. Elizabeth Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer in 1986; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Willard (Millard), Julius (Adele), Clarence (Louise) Van Handel; three sisters: Edith Weyenberg, Cora and Jane Van Handel; brothers-in-law: Roman Haupt, Adolph Toben, Howard Verbeten, John Busch, Lewis McCormick, Alois Weyenberg, Louis Verkuilen, Carl (Frankie) Grimm, Walter Grimm; father and mother-in-law, Otto (Emma) Grimm.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2004 at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Beno officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Grimm's family would like donations to be made to St. John Mission Club in Della's name.
