Jerry D. Gaskey, 72, of Stephenville and a former resident of Meridian, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, in Lake Worth, Texas. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, in the Meridian Cemetery with Rev. Richard Creech officiating. The family will be at Lawson Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, until service time.

Jerry Donald was born in Liberty, Texas, to the late John Randolph "Buck" Gaskey and Martha Wilna Caraway Gaskey. He attended school and graduated from Meridian High School where he was active in all sports. Jerry had lived in Stephenville for many years where he worked as a postman for the U. S. Postal Service until his retirement. He was a Baptist.

He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Shelton and husband, Michael, of Cameron; son, Rick Gaskey and wife, Kelley, of Azle; grandchildren, Dillon Shelton, Colton Shelton, Sutton Shelton, Colby Gaskey and Jarroe Gaskey; great-grandchildren, Kyler Hassey and Cadlie Gaskey; brother, Lyndon Gaskey, of Bulverde, Texas; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
