George Lyman Tuttle Sr. was the son of Lyman Tuttle and Martha Tuttle. He married Lydia (Nettleton) Tuttle and they had five children: George, Jr., Willis, Lilla, Wallace and Lewis. He was founder (with his father, Lyman) and President of the Tuttle Brick Co., located in the Newfield section of Middletown, CT. He served as Representative to the Connecticut General Assembly in 1868.
