Funeral for Harriett Glyn Collier Sparkman, 88, of Decatur will be Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ben Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sparkman, who died Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born September 3, 1924, in Decatur to Harry and Ruth Collier. She was a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Chick" Sparkman; and sister, Martha Collier Bowen.

Survivors include five nieces, Karen Drake Tuten, Pamela Glyn Drake Puckett, Amanda Drake, all of Decatur, Amy Bowen Bradley (Bob) of Gardendale and Wanda Bowen Bamberg (David) of Spring, Texas; three nephews, Gary Drake of Decatur, Bob Bowen (Janice) of Maylene and Ben Bowen (Jenny) of Gardendale; one great-niece, Katelyn Puckett of Decatur; six great-nephews, Adam Tuten of Madison, Drake Puckett of Decatur, Grant Bowen, Zac Bowen and Brad Bowen, all of Gardendale, and Josh Bamberg of Spring, Texas; one sister, JoAnne Collier Drake (Theron) of Decatur; and several cousins and other family members.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Elder Care of North Alabama, Hospice of the Valley and the doctors and nurses of Decatur Morgan Hospital.
