Doris was born to John and Ada Virginia (nee McCaffrey) Wagner. She had two older sisters and a younger brother. She married Robert Walker around 1925 and they had one son, Vernon. Robert drowned in a tragic boating accident. A hard worker, she provided for the two of them, and finally remarried; Ted Clements in November of 1938. He died in 1963, and she spent the rest of her days as a widow. She was a very talented and respected lady who loved to travel.
