J Matt Maitland
NASHUA – J. Matt Maitland who formerly lived at Goodell, and was graduated from the Mason City high school in 1913, died at the Veteran's Hospital in Minneapolis Minn. Friday, March 17., 1939.
The funeral was held in Minneapolis the following Monday, and the body was placed in a vault until spring, when it is expected that a National Legion cemetery will be established. The funeral was in charge of the American Legion Post of Minneapolis of which he was a member.
He was born in Goodell, April 12, 1986 and is survived by his wife and nine children; his parents Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Maitland Nashua; three sisters, Mrs. Laura Crooks, Nashua, Emma Gehrt, Bradgate and Adah Peterson, Storm Lake.
