Ellen Johnson Powell, 77, a resident of Eclectic, AL, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 after a long battle with Alzheimers. She has won eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 2:00 at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Young and Pastor Joe Creamer officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 on Tuesday at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home.
Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Pearlie Johnson; sister, Jean Cummings and brother, Howard Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles Powell; son, Steve Powell; daughter, Cindy (Tony) Myrick; granddaughter, Whitney Myrick; grandson, Starsky (Sarah) Smith; great-grandson, Owyn Smith; sisters, Sarah Folcomer, Claudia Mathieu and special sister-in-law, Betty Spivey.
