Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church for Ortha Bardeen Hennis, 66, with Rev. Charles Collisson officiating and burial was made in the G.A.R. Cemetery. Morehouse Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hennis, a lifelong resident of Homer, died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10th, at Burnham Hospital, Champaign, where he was taken Thursday afternoon after suffering a heart attack.
The deceased was born in Homer on December 22, 1889, to James and Velma Hennis. He was married on December 10, 1913 to Gladys Jeanette (Nettie) Cramer. He was employed for the past fourteen years as a civilian employee at Chanute AFB, and was a member of the Homer Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are the wife, three sons, Arthur Ralph, Champaign; Glen, Decatur; and Howard, who is a staff sergeant in the Air Corps and was recently transferred to Chanute; one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Crays, Champaign, and twelve grandchildren. Preceding him in death were two sons.
