He was born in Pittsylvania County on March 26, 1920, to Robert Carter and Bertha Fuller Carter, both deceased.
He retired as a logger. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Eugene Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Schoolfield Primitive Baptist Church cemetery in Callands.
