Mrs. Evelyn Lois Cady Mills, age 85, of Douglas, GA passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019, at Southern Senior Living. Mrs. Mills was born on May 31, 1934, in Douglas, Georgia to the late Paul Devera Cady and Annie Mae Little Cady.

Mrs. Lois was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and sister, as well as a friend to all she met. She was an entrepreneur, CEO of "Osbon Mills Grocery" as well as the Paul Cady Grocery Store in the Satilla Community. She was also one of the founding members for (Citizen Christian Academy) and served as secretary for over 20 years, she worked many years each summer as the bookkeeper at the Wilkins Stubbs and Veazey tobacco warehouse during tobacco season. She was also long time employee over 25 years at Sims Funeral Home.

The love of music was Lois' passion to help others. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ Later Day Saints and was the pianist and music director there for many years. She played piano for many gospel groups to include the Cady Sisters, the Coffee County Quartet and countless others. She also played piano for hundreds of funerals over the years all over south Georgia and north Florida. Lois' wonderful kindness for helping to serve families through their grief with her music, and her wonderful knowledge of genealogy of Coffee and Atkinson County; "she knew who was kin to who", was her calling in life. Through her God given talent, her singing and playing the piano there probably has not been a piano that has not been played by Lois Cady Mills in Coffee or Atkinson County. Her passion was always to make a people, laugh, and sharing her stories, but most of all to share her love for her heavenly father. Now she is playing and singing with the heavenly choir.

Survivors include three daughters, Beth (Charles) Harper of Douglas, GA, Paula (Kevin) Kneeland of Douglas, GA and Rhonda (Jim) M. Abajian of Douglas, GA., one son, William B (Debra) Mills of Douglas, GA., one sister, Faye Cady Adams of Douglas, GA. Several grandchildren, Wendy (Bernie) Forth, Tara (Dustin) Simpson, Joey and Kirk Solomon, Walter Mazer, Lindy Lott, Brody (Jessica) Mills, Chelesa Kneeland. Several great grandchildren, Gage (Erica) Aldridge, Drew Forth, Mills, Mason and Joley Solomon, Eli Lott, Cuyler Mazer, Brilee Mills, Baylee Lott and one great great grandchild, Mattis Aldridge also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Osbon Leon Mills, one son, Osbon Leon Mills, Jr., four sisters; Ruth Cady Weeks; Chris Cady Purvis, Carolyn Cady Wright, Lou Cady Ray and one brother, Lawton Cady, and grandson Will Mazer.

The family received friends Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sims Funeral Home.
