The funeral for Betty J. Goolden, 56, of 51 Urban Drive, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Goolden died of cancer Saturday at her home.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Phillips Memorial Home.

She was a waitress at Guy's Diner.

Born Aug. 1, 1948, in Massena, daughter of Leonard H. and Lena E. Waters Davis, she was a graduate of Massena Central School. She married David L. Goolden on April 4, 1970, at the Church of the Sacred Heart with the Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating.

She traveled with her husband for 10 years while he served in the Marine Corps before returning to Massena to live. She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing and bowling.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons, David L. II and Jayson, both of Massena; a daughter, Nichol Cryderman, Asheville, N.C.; a brother and his wife, Percy and Sue Davis, Saratoga; two sisters, Beverly Green and Fay Donnelly, both of Massena; four grandsons, a granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Four sisters died before her, Peggy Ferrance Lee in 1978, Geraldine LaClair in 1988, Ellen I. Laneuville in 1994 and Frances P. Stephenson in 1996.
