On January 10, 2013 James "Sherman" Capello went home to be with his heavenly father after suffering a stroke in May 2008. Sherman was born in Marshall, Texas on February 23, 1938, the first child of James and Estelle Capello. As a young child the family moved to Kilgore where Sherman graduated from Kilgore High School and attended Kilgore Jr. College. He then moved on to Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating he moved to California to work for McDonald Douglas for 2 years and then moved back to Texas to work for LTV. He decided to further his education at the University of Dallas and received a Masters in Quality Control Engineering in 1972. Sherman worked for LTV/Lockheed Martin from October 1964 until he retired in March 1999. He always enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and admiring his grandchildren. He loved telling stories and "explaining things" to anyone that would stand still long enough to listen. Sherman is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dolores Capello, children, Tamra South, Sheryl Kendrick and husband, Kevin, and Chad Capello, grandchildren, Zachary Cade, Chase Kendrick, Spc. Cody Kendrick, Tara Capello, Cory South and Mason Capello, great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Peyton Kendrick and sister, Shirley Gibbs and husband, Robert.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Midlothian Funeral Home and services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Farley Street Baptist Church in Waxahachie, Texas. Burial will follow at Midlothian Cemetery.
