Alva L. Nelson, 92, of Mountain Pine passed away Saturday January 26, 2013. He was born June 18, 1920 to the late Dosha Raines Nelson and Perry Nelson in Cedar Creek, Arkansas.

Mr. Nelson worked for Weyerhaeuser and was a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II. He was predeceased by her parents; and two sisters, Deda Hunt and Modena Hollaway.

Survivors include his wife, Emagean Nelson; one son, Alvie G. (Brenda) Nelson; two daughters, Judy (Leon) Crumpton and Diana (Glen) George; four grandchildren, Laura (Rick) Keenom, Steven (Jennifer) Nelson, Mark (Danielle) Crumpton and Matt Crumpton; five great grandchildren, Megan (Josh) Atkins, Tyler Keenom, Zach Keenom, Emily Crumpton and Tyler Crumpton.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday at Hot Springs Funeral Home.

Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Hot Springs Funeral Home with Pastor Buddy Leamons officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove (Rock Springs) Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Glen George, Ricky Keenom, Tyler Keenom, Mark Crumpton, Matt Crumpton and Steve Nelson.

Honorary Pallbearers are the Weyerhaeuser's saw filers, nurses and staff of National Park Medical Center, Med 2, Dr. Barton Parish, Odyssey Hospice, and a special thanks to Sharon Bice, Lee Chambers and Brenda Spaulding.

Military honors will be by the VFW Post #2278 Honor Guard.
