Cris J. Akin, 71, died at 8:15 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at Streator, Illinois.
Mr. Akin was born Oct. 14, 1933 in Benton, Illinois, the son of Raymond and Ida Mae (Lotus) Akin. He married Shirley (Eldridge) Akin Oct. 31, 1952 and she survives.
Also surviving are their children, Debbie (Steven) Sherman, Nancy (Kim) Wynn and Jeff (Lori) Akin; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Hammond and three brothers, James (Rose) Akin, LeRoy (Vicki) Akin and Gary (Barbara) Akin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christine Kay Akin and brothers, William and Clifford.
Mr. Akin was retired from Owen's Illinois Glass after 39 years.
