Ruble Simpson, age 77 of Somerset, Kentucky, formally of Scott County, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Born in Stearns, Kentucky on June 20, 1935, he was the son of the late James and Lena (Hawn) Simpson.

Ruble served in the Armed Services for 6 years, worked at Burress Brothers Garage for 15 years and retired from General Motors after 30 years. He was a member of the 4-gallon blood donor and an active member of the local union 696 UAW.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Etta Simpson; brother Thomas Simpson; nephew Nicholas Simpson; niece Angela Simpson; step-son Richard Simpson.

Survived by his wife of 36 years Ruth (Byrd) Simpson; step-daughters: Emily Simpson and Shannon Wineburg and husband Garrett; sisters: Joyce Pemberton of Dayton, Ohio, Carol Sheppard and Donna Simpson both of Columbus, Ohio; brothers: James Simpson and wife Edra of Hillsboro, Ohio and Granville Simpson and wife Judy of Wartburg, Tennessee; nieces: Sharon Pemberton, Sheila Fleming and husband Tom, Marla Sheppard, Patty Gouge and husband Will and Tammy Dalton and husband Ray; nephews: Jim Simpson and wife Vanessa and Kevin Simpson and wife Tina; in-laws Kenneth and Margarete Byrd, Earl and Rose Moore, Faye Hensley, Joyce Bailey, and Paul and Beulah Newport; also a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Simpson family on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 3:30 p.m. until time of funeral service at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Will Gouge officiating. Music will be provided by Tina Simpson and Jake Simpson. Graveside service will be on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Concord Cemetery in Robbins, Tennessee with full military honors provided by American Legion Post # 136. Bro. Stan Day will officiate the service.
