Obituary for Eric Hunter

Eric "O'Malley" John Paul Hunter
June 30, 1979 – January 26, 2013

Eric John Paul Hunter was born in Monroe, Michigan on June 30, 1979. He was the son of Dennis John Hunter and the late Patsy Lynne Lynch. Eric graduated from Jefferson High School in 1997 and later joined the Air Force Reserves achieving "Airman of the Year" while stationed at Selfridge AFB Michigan.

Eric "O'Malley" Hunter was a joy to everyone he met, he was kind hearted and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He enjoyed fishing, time with family and friends, and hanging out at deer camp. He had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Eric John Paul Hunter age 33 of Monroe passed away at 6:26pm, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe. In addition to his mother, his passing was preceded his grandfathers: Jack D. Hunter and James Martin Lynch; his grandmother: Mary Belle (Paul) Heaton; one aunt and four cousins.

To cherish his memory he leaves his father: Dennis John Hunter of Monroe; his eldest brother: William "Bill" Lynch of Monroe; his sister: Frankie (Bernard) Gill of Newport; several aunts and uncles, many cousins, nephews, and nieces, and great nephews and great nieces from Michigan and Ohio. He is also survived by his significant other: Cassandra Hill and her two children and two granddaughters

Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will be held on 11:00am on Thursday, January 31, 2013 also at Merkle's. Pastor Kenneth Spain, Associate Pastor from Monroe Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park with graveside services under the auspices of Monroe VFW Post 1138.
