Sarah Freese Tilton was born on February 10, 1844 in Deerfield, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. She died on July 26, 1924 in East Fairfield, Franklin County, Vermont.

She is buried in the Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.

The birth of triplets to the family must have been a strange event. All three were named Sarah, after different Sarahs in their family tree, probably because it was assumed that none of them would survive but only one of them died as an infant. To differentiate between the two that survived, Sarah Freese was called "Sallie" while Sarah True was called "Sarah."

Sallie never married and remained close to her sister Sarah throughout her life. After Sarah married in 1866, Sallie moved to Concord, New Hampshire to live with her and her husband. Sallie remained there until the death of her brother-in-law in 1913.

After this, she moved to Northfield, New Hampshire to live with her half-sister Ellen Crockett.

She died during the brief period that the Crockett family lived in Vermont.

In 1870 Sallie was making income by working in a shop.
