Anita Ruth Strickland Horne, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away January 26, 2013 at the age of 84. Anita was a wonderful supportive wife, mother and grandmother. Her view of the world was different than everyone else. She saw humor in the crevices of life that none of the rest of us could. She made the lives of everyone around her fuller by sharing her discoveries. Anita instinctively knew good from bad, whether it was a piece of furniture, an art object, or someone's character. It was hard to fool her and you learned to listen. She lived by the belief that if she couldn't say anything good, it wasn't said. She was a longtime member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Horne retired from Fulton National Bank.

Anita is survived by her husband of 67 years, Clarence E. "Buster" Horne; son, Richard E. "Skip" (Jackie) Horne of Thomson, GA; daughter, Kathy (Kelly) Colwell of Cumming, GA; grandchildren, Matthew (Elizabeth) Horne of Mobile, Alabama, Elizabeth (Nick) Snyder of Covington, Kentucky, Ross (Paula) Colwell of Flowery Branch, GA, Christine (Mark) Hamilton of Clarksville, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Charlie Horne, Kate Colwell, Jack Hamilton; sister, Myra Dean (Emory) Bailey of Phenix City, AL; and former daughter-in-law, Joanne Powers.

Funeral service held on Tuesday, January 29 at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Reverend Michelle Rawdin and Reverend Billy Lewis officiating. Interment in the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
