John Melvin French, 62, a retired employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation, died at 12:45 p.m. yesterday at his home, 849 S. 24th St, Louisville, KY 40211.
He retired four years ago after eight years with the company. He formerly was. a farmer in Edmondson County, Kentucky.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Barbara E. French; two sons, Jesse French and James French, both of Sunfish, Ky.; four daughters, Mrs. Pearl Hack, Elizabethtown, Ky., Mrs. Nora Durbin, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Viola Shively, and Mrs. Emma Campbell; four brothers, Charles French, Tom French, Jim French, and Gus French; a sister, Mrs. Annie Lasley, and 23 grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 7 a.m. Wednesday at George Manning Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. John Church, Sunfish. Ky, Burial will be at St. John Cemetery.
