Cleo was born June 17, 1916, in Miami County to Albert and Bankie (Hoffman) Young. He was married Feb. 26, 1938, in Wabash County to Jessie G. Smith; she passed away June 8, 1997.
Cleo was a grain and livestock farmer. He was a longtime member of the Akron Church of God, and he also attended the Lake Placid Church of God. He graduated from Gilead High School. Cleo and his wife, Jessie, wintered in Lake Placid, Fla., for over 30 years, and in the later years they lived year round in Lake Placid. He had been a member of the WBCCI Airstream Club, and he attended club
rallies all over the country. He also enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy and husband Larry Burch, Indianapolis, and Loretta and husband Brook Black, Fishers; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgranddaughter.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Miller, and two brothers, Robert and Ralph Young.
A celebration of life will be at noon Saturday at the Akron Church of God, 301 S. West St., Akron, with Pastor Terry Canfield officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home.
