She attended and graduated from Caruthers Grammar and High Schools. Muriel also attended one year at the University of Pacific, in Stockton and one year at San Jose State. She studied violin for ten years and was in the orchestra in Caruthers, University of Pacific and at San Jose State.
Muriel met Ray in 1939 and were married in 1940. Ray joined the U. S Navy in 1942 and they were stationed in Idaho, Rhode Island and Boston. Their daughter, Sharon was born while in Boston. Later they lived in Fresno, where their son, David was born.
After the children started school, Muriel taught violin and piano. She also was active in her church choir and a member of Old Mission Church.
She is survived by her son, David (Robyn); daughter, Sharon; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray.
Graveside services will be at 11 a. m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, at the Old Mission Cemetery
