Survived by son, Jim (Dee) Lindley; grandson, Bryan Lindley; two sisters, Audrey Elizabeth Lindley Hill and Minnie Lois Lindley Collins

Mr. Lindley, a World War II Veteran, was commissioned into the US Navy just days before graduation from Mississippi State University. James was permitted to complete all his final exams but not allowed to stay and participate in the graduation ceremony.

James was a graduate of the Class of 1942, School of Education, Mississippi State University (Starkville, MS). While at MSU, he was a member of Alpha Tau Alpha and the Senior Y Council. He was President; Future Farmers of America. James taught at Nettleton High School, Nettleton, MS. He also taught and managed the college's farm & dairy at Southwest Junior College, Summit, MS. He became an elementary principal at Videlia, LA, where he remained until his retirement.
