Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with the Rev. Dr. Richard Neiderhiser officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be one hour prior to her service on Tuesday, also at the memorial home in Fairbury. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais, IL or Evenglow Lodge, Pontiac, IL.
Mrs. Gambrel was born November 28, 1921 in Gary, IN, the daughter of Harry L. and Selma A. (Lindstedt) Anderson. She married Rev. Verland Gambrel on November 6, 1943 in Nashville, TN. He passed away on March 3, 2004.
Mrs. Gambrel was a 1939 graduate of Chesterton High School and received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais, IL in 1971. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Homemakers Extension of Livingston County and the Fairbury Senior Citizens.
She enjoyed spending time with her family who will miss her deeply. Music, camping, and traveling with her husband were on the top of her "favorites" list.
