RoseMarie was born the 3rd of 5 children to John Vernon Sr. and Nearissa Lois (Ferguson) Anderson. She was born and raised in Oklahoma City.
She married May 16, 1953 to Lee Charles Burton and was mother to 7 children
She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife and especially mother and grandmother.RoseMarie Anderson Burton, age 77, Oklahoma City, passed away November 10, 2007. RoseMarie was born December 18, 1929, in Oklahoma City, to John and Nearissa Anderson. She was one of five children. RoseMarie attended Rosary Elementary School and Classen High School, where she graduated in 1947. She graduated from Oklahoma City University with a degree in English. While attending graduate school at the University of Oklahoma, she met her husband, Lee Charles Burton. They married on May 16, 1953. In their 54 years of marriage, they moved about the country to Minnesota, Virginia, Kansas and then back to OKC. She and Lee were longtime parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and participated in numerous parish activities. She enjoyed playing with her bridge club, other card games with her family, crossword puzzles, and volunteered as a counselor with the Crisis Hot-line and Meals-on-Wheels. She and her husband loved traveling to visit their children as they circled the globe in their military careers, visiting England, Scotland, Iceland, Italy, Puerto Rico, and many cities in the U.S. Her most cherished activity in recent years has been participating, along with her husband, in the lives of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. RoseMarie was preceded in death by 3 brothers, John, David, and Michael. She is survived by her husband, Lee Burton; one sister, Jeannine Barbour of OKC; and seven children, 18 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, Kathy Burton and husband Jack Paskert of Alexandria, VA; John Burton and wife Sharon and children Alexis, Joshua, Jacob and Miriam of Bremerton, WA; RosaLee Burton and son Zachary of Sugar Grove, WV; Pat Burton and wife Trina with their children Beau, Brandy and Chasey, and grandchildren Chaz, Logan, Bailey, Shelby and Ashley of OKC; Mary Miller and husband Greg with their children Jeremy, Russell, Jonathan and Kristopher of Mustang, OK; Gina Nelson and husband Keith with their children Kaitlin, Averie, Reggie and Gabriel of Mustang, OK; and Chris Burton and wife Sharon and their children Michael and Tabitha of Houston, TX. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 13, 2007, 9:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1901 NW 18.
