Robin Dee Cassell Edwards, 48 of Newport, Tenn., formerly of Collinsville and Henry, died Thursday June 23, 2011, at Hamblen-Morristown Hospital in Morristown, Tenn.
She was born Dec. 12, 1962, in Martinsville to Tootsie Smith Cassell of Collinsville, and Austin Elmer Cassell, who preceded her in death.
She attended Fieldale Collinsville High School and graduated from Patrick Henry Community College with an associate degree with honors in computer programming. She was a member of Concord Primitive Baptist Church in Meadows of Dan. She had worked at MW Windows in Rocky Mount in the billing section for several years.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, David Edwards of Newport; one son, Robert Campbell of Newport; one stepson Joseph Hartley Jr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sisters, Carolyn Cassell Pereira of Collinsville and Cheryl Cassell Gandy of Myrtle Beach; and two granddaughters.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with Carlyle Gandy officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends for one hour before the service in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home of her mother at 1267 Westover Drive, Collinsville.
