James Henry, the son of William J. & Mary A. (Rowe) Dabb came to the United States with his parents in 1874. James married Elizabeth, daughter of William & Elizabeth (Opee) Cocking who had immigrated with her parents in 1868.
James & Elizabeth were married August 2, 1881 in Negaunee, Michigan, where James was an iron ore miner. They moved to Iron Mountain, Dickinson, Michigan, where he was a mechanical engineer in 1900. They had 4 children.
After a long illness, James died and Elizabeth married William Pollard, of Iron Mountain on November 9, 1908. (Dickinson County Michigan Centennial Book: From Earliest Times Through the Twenties.)
