FEAR ADAM KLEIN VICTUM IN RIVER

Police Dragging Waters South of Here for body of WPA Worker

Adam Klein, 28 year old WPA worker, missing for two days if believed to have drowned in the Sheyenne river about two miles southwest of here while looking after his trapping lines.

Police were first notified of his disappearance yesterday afternoon. A search over his trap line followed and his rifle and hunting equipment were found, with tracks leading to the edge of the river where it is believed he fell into the water and drowned.

Acting Chief of Police, Harold Stenshoel immediately dispatched a crew of men with a boat and grapping hooks to the scene where it is feared he disappeared, and the work of fragging the river was resumed this morning. No results have been reported early this afternoon.

Klein is married and has two small children. The family reside on Oakwood avenue off Eastidy avenue near Granger Hill.

OBITUARY
Adam Klein, the oldest son of John and Sophia Klein was born at Medina, ND on November 3, 1913. He was baptized and affiliated with the First German Baptist church of Medina. In 1934 the family moved to Tower city and he became a member of the First Baptist church of Valley city. Two years later the family again moved in a farm west of Valley city. On August 23. 1937 he was united in marriage to Doris Thornberg. This union was blessed with two children. Robert Lee and Carol Jean.

For the love and care of his family, he engaged in trapping to add to their comforts and while doing so he met his untimely death on April 6. 1942.

Besides his mother, father and family, Adam Klein leaves three brothers:
Ted and Benny Klein of Valley City
Rueben Klein of fort Lewis, Washington
And three sisters
Martha; Mrs Ed Henke
Viola; Mrs Stanley Burtin
Rachel; Mrs Tony Svoda
All of Valley City

Services were held at the First Baptist church of Valley City at 3:30 pm Sunday April 12, with Rev. F H Swanson officiating. Internment was a Woodbine Cemetery.
