Obituary:
Gordon Clark, age 85, quietly left his earthly dwelling from his home in Valley City, ND on January 28, 2006 to begin his eternal residency with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Gordon Palmer Clark, son of Paul D. and Mabel E [Palmer] Clark, was born September 1, 1920 in Alfred, North Dakota. In 1922 the family moved to Millarton, ND and in 1928 to Valley City, where the family was involved in the grocery business. Gordon grew up in a house known as the College Grocery Store near the State Teachers College, and graduated high school from that institution.

He married Irene Katherine Donnelly on November, 12 1941 in Valley City, and the young married couple spent the first six years of their marriage in the Black Hills of South Dakota and finally in Pennsylvania where Gordon was assigned to CPS duties. In 1946 they returned to Valley City where he followed his brother, Eldon, into the Watkins Products business, working a rural route for nearly 60 years.

Four children were born to Gordon and Irene: Janice Clark of Valley City, Joy Andrews of Fort Collins, Co; Daniel Clark of Oriska, ND; and Marcia Koesterman of West Fargo, ND. Gordon leaves grandchildren Sean [Tracey] Payne of Green Bay, WI; Danielle and Brandon Koesterman of West Fargo, ND; adopted granddaughter Bonnie [Tim] Kinney of Verona, WI; and three great grandchildren: Hanna Payne, Kyle and Kayla Kinney.

Gordon was a man of four great passions. His Bible, his family, his Watkins route and his tennis. His ability to enjoy every moment of life with gusto and humor made him remember able to all with whom he came in contact. Ever younger than his actual years, he was beloved by young and old alike.

Preceded in death by his parents, beloved brother, Eldon, cherished cousin Carol Rudd. Sorely missed by wife, children, sister Ella Beth Schoenig, and many nephews and nieces. His epitaph is written not in earthly stone, but one upon their hearts.

Memorial Service Friday, February 10, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Valley City, Pastor Phil Ostlund .
