Kingville--Roberto Alvarez, 87, WWW II Army Veteran, a retired Texas A&I University custodian, and former member of the Knights of Columbus 2623, passed away Feb. 26, 2006. Survivors include his wife, Cecelia, three sons, Roberto Alvarez, Jr. of Prosper,David Alvarez of Lakeland, Fla. and Joe Cortez of Pasadena, six daughters, Erlinda A. Salazar, Rosa A. Samuelson, Elvira A. Alarcon and Yolanda A. Gomez, all of Corpus Christi, Dora A. Nieto of Mathis and Margarita A. Favela of San Antonio, a sister Francisca A. Villanueva of Kingsville, 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and two great-great granchildren. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. March 1 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
