Drew Nelson Allen, age 65, of Warsaw, passed away suddenly Monday evening, November 12, 2012, at his home. He was born on July 5, 1947, in Sedalia, Missouri, the son of George D. and Bertha L. Runyan Allen. Drew grew up in the Hastain community and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1965. He was drafted into the United States Army on March 20, 1968. He received his basic trained at Fort Polk, Lousiana and was stationed at Fort Still, Oklahoma and received training in heavy artillery at Fort Still, Oklahoma. He served during the the Vietman Conflict. He also was a mess truck driver in Europe. Drew was honorably discharged on March 10, 1970. He spent 2 weeks in Camp McCoy, Wisconsin for Reserves and Heavy Artillery and received his final discharge in 1972 from the Reserves. On June 13, 1971, he was united in marriage to Iris Colleen Griffin at the Ozark Baptist Temple in Warsaw by Rev. Herald Bailey. Following their marriage they made their home near Warsaw and unto this union, one son, Bryan. and a daughter, Heather, were born. Drew worked for MFA Propane in Warsaw for a year and Empire Gas of Warsaw for 6 years. Later he was employed at Parkhurst in Sedalia for three years and then Waterloo Industries in Sedalia for 15 years. Drew was the owner of Fauquier and Son Pest Control from 1971 until his death and was also a driver for Daylight Donuts of Warsaw. Drew enjoyed being outdoors and could be found hunting, fishing, or firing up his grill to cook. He was a member of the Shawnee Lodge #653 A.F. and A M.of Warsaw and could be found helping his fellow brothers at their annual rodeo and handicap deer hunt activities. Drew enjoyed the simple things in life, like joking with his friends, helping his fellow man and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Rosalie. He is survived by his wife, Iris, of the home, two children, Bryan Nelson Allen and his wife, Lorree, of Springfield, Missouri and Heather Nicole Cline of Lincoln, Missouri, two grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Gavin Allen, both of Springfield, a brother, Danny Allen of Kansas City, Missouri and a sister, Robbie Weeks, of Hastain, Missouri, other relatives and many friends. Visitation for Drew Allen will be Saturday morning, November 17, 2012l, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M, with Masonic Services at 11:00 AM at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw. Graveside Services and Military Rites will follow at Mossy Cemetery near Edwards, Missouri. Arrangments by Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO.
