Mrs. Vera Rushing Gibson, 87, died Nov. 13, 2008.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Nov. 16, at Cross Roads Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Gibson was born Aug. 19, 1921 a daughter of the late Bogan Matthew and Grace Hilton Rushing. She was a graduate of Mt. Croghan High School and was a skilled seamstress having retired from Sacony. Mrs. Gibson was a life long member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.
Vera was preceded in death by four brothers, Harley, Henry, Dock, and Tom Rushing, and two sisters; Ethel R. Gulledge and Lucy R. Sellers.
Surviving is her husband of 69 years, Van Burren "Bill" Gibson.
