John J. Elliott, 66 of Middletown, died Sept. 30, at Crozier-Chester Medical Center, Upland. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Thomas Gilbert Elliott and Anna Marie Drury. Educated in the Philadelphia schools and lived in Middletown for the past 22 years. He worked for the old Sun Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co for 6 years as a mechanic, retiring in 1985. Mr. Elliott was a veteran of WWII. He was in the US Navy and served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre of Operations.He is survived by his wife Helen Hury Elliott: four sisters, Florence Green of Oregon City, Ore., Margaret Broome of Savannah, GA., Anna Geiger of Munhall, PA, and Ruth Clark of Bene, VA. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Aston.
