Deborah Humphreys Bost, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013.
Deborah was born on August 7, 1957 in Chattanooga.. Upon graduating from court reporting school, Deborah moved to Washington, D.C. to pursue her career, taking Senate hearings and later working for the American Trucking Company. While in Washington, Deborah met her husband, Alden Bost, eventually married there, and later gave birth to their daughter, Rikki.
The family finally settled in Chattanooga. As for everyone who knew Deborah knows, she had a taste for the finer things in life. She was able to display this quality while managing her family run upscale ladies boutique, Hamrick's of Chattanooga.
Deborah spent her days loving her family, volunteering for various organizations, and eventually, discovering her love of tennis. Deborah instantly became a stand-out on the tennis court as well as a stand out among friends – contributing her time, energy and devotion to always providing encouragement and a willing ear.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Henry Clay Owens and her father, Mr. James Hamrick.
Deborah is survived by her mother, Barbara Hamrick; husband, Alden Bost; daughter, Rikki Craven and husband Brian Craven of Columbia, SC; brothers, Rick Hamrick & Jason Hamrick; and the apple of her eye, her granddaughter, Sloane Craven.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, January 28, at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, north chapel with Pastor Chris Gaither officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, and two hour before services on Monday at the funeral home.
