PRATT - Floyd E. Wheeler, 94, died Dec. 1, 2011, at Pratt Rehabilitation Center of Pratt, Kan. He was born June 8, 1917, in Stevens County, Kan., the son of Horace and Viola Smith Wheeler. A Pratt resident for more than 60 years, he was a retired auto mechanic for the former Lesh Motors of Pratt, Kan., and a member of Pratt Friends Church.

He married Helen Lutes Wheeler June 1, 1952, in Pratt, Kan. She died Aug. 23, 2001.

Survivors include: nine nephews, Lewis Wheeler of Hugoton, Kan., Lee Wheeler of Hugoton, Kan., Lyle Wheeler of Newberg, Ore., Harold Kinser of Sun City West, Ariz., Merle Kinser of Coyle, Okla., Delmar Kinser of Newton, Kan., Irvin Kinser of Bonner Springs, Kan., Loren Lutes of Ozawkie, Kan., Larry Lutes of Cherryvale, Kan.; and three nieces, Pauline Hancock of Emporia, Kan., Evelyn Eubank of Silver Lake, Kan., and Margaret McIntire of Wichita, Kan.

Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Wheeler; his parents; three brothers, Harold Wheeler, Leslie Wheeler, and Clarence Wheeler; two sisters, Gertrude Bushweiler and Myrtle Kinser; and niece, Eva Dixson.

Viewing will be 9 a.m. to service time Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary, with Reverend John Havens presiding, with indoor graveside service at 10:30 a.m. Private burial will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt. Calling times are 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Memorials to Pratt Friends Church or to Hospice Care of Kansas, in care of the mortuary.
