Charles W. Babcock, born at Dansville in 1882, died at his home at Oakland early Monday morning, following a short illness. Mr. Babcock had been foreman of the blacksmith shop at the Foot Co. plant here for the past six years, and was well liked and highly regarded by his fellow workmen. Funeral services were held at his late home yesterday at 2 p.m., Dr. Glover, pastor of the Presbyterian church officiating. Interment was made in the Oakland cemetery, services at the grave being conducted by the Nunda Odd Fellows Lodge of which the deceased was a member. Mr. Babcock is survived by his wife, one brother George and an aunt, Mrs. Amelia Canfield, also several cousins, nephews and nieces.
