Lawrence Lee Howell grew up in the hills of North Carolina in Bakerfield Township, Mitchell County.

He was always called Lee.

He graduated from High School in 1940.

He moved to Ohio around 1941.

There, he met and married Wanda Mae Williams in 1943, and they had one daughter.

Wanda was unfaithful and they were divorced around 1948.

Lee worked at the E. W. Bliss Company in Canton, Ohio, most of his working career and made huge furnaces.

He did the welding.

He married Virgina Margaret Beck Padermos on March 26, 1955, in the parsonage of the Canton Baptist Temple.

They were married by Reverend Harold Henniger.

She had three children at that time.

Virginia and Lee later had one son.

Lee always suffered from high blood pressure that was difficult to control medically.

Thus, he received a medical retirment from the E. W. Bliss Company around 1968 and began his own little antique business in his barn known as Howell's Antiques.

He and Virginia travelled around to flea markets and sold antiques up until his death.

His specialty was old phone parts.

Even though he had open-heart surgery in 1986, he died of a heart attack in 1987.

He was 65, a great step-father and I miss him.
