Alice Adams Beaudrot Persells, 79, 2848 Lenox Rd. NE, wife of Lester Persells, died Mar. 13, 2004 at Hospice Atlanta. Born Feb. 3, 1925 in Augusta, GA, she was a daughter of the late Al Gibson and Lena E. Poole Adams. She was an honor graduate of Augusta College where she received an associate arts degree and was also an honor graduate of Georgia State College for Women (now Georgia State University). Her entire career was in Greenwood, SC, School District #50 where she formerly taught on the high school level and retired after 30 years service as elementary music teacher for the district. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenwood where she was a member of the choir, and formerly served as church organist at Connie Maxwell Baptist Church. She was also a member of the National Music Conference for Music Educators and was a former Red Cross volunteer for music at the Greenwood Methodist Home. For many years, she was involved in the musical life of Greenwood as a pianist, singer and organist to include director of music for The Kitchen Band. Mrs. Persells was twice married, first to the late Charles Rufus Beaudrot. Surviving in addition to her husband of Atlanta are son, Charles Rufus "Chuck" Beaudrot, Jr. of Atlanta, and daughter, Alice B. Baines of Duluth, GA; 5 grandchildren. Graveside services were conducted in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Dr. Tony Hopkins officiated. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Atlanta. Blyth Funeral Home.
