Irene Johnson, 93, of Milaca, died Monday, February 21, at Milaca Elim Home. Irene Gladys Johnson was born September 19, 1917, in Dailey Township, Mille Lacs County, to Joseph and Katharine (Olson) Youngberg. She attended grade school at District 42 country school and graduated from Milaca High School. She worked for G.E. Rolien Insurance Agency in Milaca.
She married Carl Emil Johnson October 12, 1942. After her children were grown, she worked for Johnson Plumbing. She moved into Country Meadows in January 2008, and from there to the Milaca Elim Home. Irene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl; granddaughter, Kirsten; brothers, Ted and Warren; sisters, Annie, Pearl, and Anne.
Services were held Friday, February 25, at Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Stephen Blenkush officiating. Arrangements were by Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home.
