Dianne passed away Thursday morning at the Mahaska Health Partnership Hospice Services Serenity House in Oskaloosa at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 1 day.

Dianne Barnhouse Campbell was born August 23, 1930, in Oskaloosa to Charles Lloyd and Irene Snider Barnhouse. She was a 1948 graduate of Oskaloosa High School and then attended Monticello College where she studied art. After her granduation in 1950, she attended the University of Iowa from 1950-51 where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Dianne was united in marriage to John Louis Campbell on July 14, 1951, in Oskaloosa. Dianne was an accomplished artist and assisted Dwight Kirsch in painting the mural in the lobby of the former Mahaska State Bank on the square in Oskaloosa. Dianne also painted portraits, designed pottery and played the piano and guitar. She was a life long member of St. James Episcopal Church where she was active in the Altar Guild. Dianne served her community by helping with the Ecumenical Cupboard, End of the Month Meals, and she volunteered at the Y Community Center. Diane will be remembered as a truly devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Dianne's family includes her children: B.G. and Sandra Campbell of Oskaloosa, Jamie and Eric Chase of Montclair, NJ, Charley and Sandra Campbell of Hollister, CA and Tom and Stephanie Campbell of Marshalltown; ten grandchildren; Peter Campbell of Oskaloosa and Ben Campbell of Atlanta, GA, Eric Chase and his fiancee, Jenelle Bennett and her son, Luke Bennett of Arlington, VA, Kathryn Chase and her fiancee, Lorenzo Martinez of Montclair, NJ, John Chase of Washington, DC, Kenzie and Kenneth Campbell of Hollister, CA, Charley an Nicole Campbell of Waukee, IA, Kate and Lucas Wolfe of Waukee, IA, Joseph Campbell of Chicago, IL; five-great grandchildren; Thomas, Kiersten Grant Campbell and twins; Graham and Bennett Wolfe, all of Waukee, IA, and a brother-in-law, Keith and Mary Fran Campbell of Oskaloosa.

In addition to her parents and her husband, John, Dianne was preceded in death by two brothers, Chuck and Bob Barnhouse, and a sister, Cynthia Coe.

Visitation: will begin at 1 pm, Friday, January 25, 2013 at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel. The family will be present from 5-7 pm to greet visitors. Funeral Service: 2:30 pm, Saturday afternoon, January 26, 2013 at St. James Epicopal Church with Father Terry Kleven officiating. Interment: Forest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. James Altar Guild.
