Daniel Lynn "Dan" McClellan, age 66, passed away unexpectedly at Upper Valley Medical Center, in Troy, Ohio, on October 16, 2008. He was born to Charles "Abe" and Margaret Powell McClellan, in Dayton, Ohio, on January 7, 1942. Dan was a former employee of BF Goodrich, in Troy, where he was affectionately known as "Dirty Dan." He was very proud of the recycled car he created and the many things he built to try to discover the next great invention.

Dan is survived by: a daughter, Connie (Robert) Craig, of Springfield; two sisters, Patricia Wade, of Dayton, and Mary Ellen Muench, of Vandalia; a dear friend, Gail Carter, of Piqua; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents; an infant son, Daniel Lynn McClellan, II; and four brothers, John McClellan, Thomas McClellan, Donald McClellan and Fritz McClellan.

As a final act of caring, his wish to be an organ donor was honored. He served our country in the United States Army, stationed in Germany during peacetime, and will receive a military burial at Dayton National Cemetery, 4100 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 24.
