Mrs. Lydia Klonglan
Funeral services for Mrs. Lyda Klonglan were held May 14 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater with Rev. John Ness officiating. The soloist was Robert Weeks and the organist Mrs. Lowell Accola.
Pallbearers were Phillip Klonglan, Donald Klonglan, David Erickson, Dennis Brooks, Timothy Erickson and David Conkel. Burial was in the Slater Municipal Cemetery.
Lyda Beatrice Klonglan, age 59, died Saturday, May 12, 1973 at her home in Slater after an illness of several years. She was born near Story City on January 18, 1914. Her parents were Severt and Mary Erickson.
On June 16, 1932 she was married to Glen Klonglan. They lived most of their married life in Slater. To this union were born three children, two of whom survive her. They are Mrs. Selmer (Darlene) Erickson and Marlin Klonglan, both of Nevada.
Her parents and her son, Arlin, preceded her in death.
In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by four grandchildren, Tim, Sherri, Connie and Tammy Erickson of Nevada, nine brothers, Gurton of Huxley, Orlen of Des Moines, Milford of St. Louis, Mo., Robert of Owensville, Mo., Kenneth of Ames, Clyde of Laurel, Harold of McCallsburg, Donald of Newton and Merrill of Kent, Washington, and two sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Helen) Knolls of Des Moines and Mrs. Howard (Rosella) Brooks of Ames and many other relatives and friends.
