MIFFLINBURG — Dorothy G. Spaid, 80, of 63 Pine Valley Court since 1993, formerly of 357 Chestnut St. for 33 years, died at 2:27 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at her home.
She was born Jan. 20, 1925, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Leroy Summers and Edna Mae Rearick Roat. On March 1, 1945, she married Charles J. Spaid, who preceded her in death Dec. 5, 1990.
Mrs. Spaid was a member of Mifflinburg United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son, Wayne S. Spaid of Northumberland; two daughters, Doris A. Straub of Winfield and Carol L. Spaid of Mifflinburg; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-granddaughter; two brothers, Robert Leroy Roat of Lewisburg and Richard David Roat of Winfield; and four sisters, Edith Thelma Muffly of Painted Post, N.Y., Margaret Maude Kline of Lewisburg, Verna Mae Eisenhuth and Jean Ann Katherman, both of Mifflinburg.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert W. Spaid, on July 29, 1993; one granddaughter, Heidi Spaid; and one great-grandson, Matthew Straub.
A private viewing and funeral service will be conducted at the discretion of the family by the Rev. Ronald Warfle.
A private burial will be in Hartleton Cemetery.
