Craig K. Chenoweth, age 70 of Fitchburg, WI, formerly of Nashua, IA, passed away January 24, 2013, at the Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI..

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at the United Methodist Church, Nashua with Pastor Okitakoyi Lundula presiding.

Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Nashua with Gary Olson, Kevin Gilbert, Jack Link, Terry Link, Rev. Realff Ottesen, Dan Roberts, and Jerry Dietz serving as pallbearers.

Friends may greet the family 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Hugeback - Johnson Funeral Home in Nashua. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church.

Craig Kent Chenoweth was born on August 23rd, 1942, in Charles City, IA, the son of James E. and Elsie B. (Treloar) Chenoweth. Growing up, Craig was very active in Boy Scouts and sports, earning his Eagle Scout award in 1956 and playing football for Nashua High School. Craig was an all conference and all state offensive linemen and a member of the 1959 Corn Bowl Conference championship team. This team went undefeated and was named the Des Moines Register Class 2 State Champions. Craig graduated from Nashua High School in 1960 and then earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa and a Mortuary Science degree from the University of Minnesota. He served his 1 year apprenticeship in Nashua and Fredericksburg with his dad (James) and grandfather (Earl), becoming a licensed funeral director in 1964.

Craig was united in marriage with Judith Link at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ionia, IA on August 24th, 1963. To this union, three children were born: Carol, Brett, and Andrew. The family moved to Sioux Falls, SD in 1966, where Craig started his first job, traveling the state of South Dakota for Congoleum-Nairn floor covering. Craig was a very successful salesman and before long, was offered a position with Masonite Corporation, where he sold building supplies in South Dakota.
In 1972,

Craig took a position with Dubuque Casket Company, traveling the southern half of Minnesota. They then moved to Mankato, MN where they lived until 1976. In 1976, Craig was transferred to Oelwein, IA, where they lived until moving to Nashua, IA in 1979. On July 1, 1981, Craig purchased the family funeral home business and furniture store from his father. Craig provided a critical service to grieving families in the Nashua and Fredericksburg areas for over 20 years before selling it on Jan 1, 2003.

Craig and Judy moved to Fitchburg, WI in July 2010 to be near their children. Craig's greatest enjoyment came from watching his grandchildren. His weeks and weekends were always filled with football, wrestling, baseball, track, hockey, soccer, golf, and basketball. Craig was a member of the United Methodist church, Iowa Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, the Masonic Tyrrell Lodge # 116 of Waverly, IA, and El Kahir Shrine.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; one daughter, Carol (Troy) Mitchell, of Fitchburg, WI; two sons, Brett (Alicia) of New Glarus, WI; Andrew (Amy) of Geneva, IL; one brother, Mike (Lynn) Chenoweth of Palenville, NY; 6 grandchildren: Viktor Mitchell; James, John and Robert Chenoweth; Owen and Chloe Chenoweth; mother-in-law, Mary Link of Elma, IA; brothers-in-law, Jack (Kay) Link of Mason Neck, VA, Jim (Sandra) Link of Ionia, IA, Terry (Ellen) Link of Pembroke Pines, FL; sister-in-law Marilou Roberts (Dan) of Clemson, SC; and one aunt, Estelle Treloar of Cedar Falls, IA.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Earl and Edna (Andrew) Chenoweth, Ellsworth and Ada Blanche (Reed) Treloar; and father-in-law Louis Link.
