Jonathan J. Pittman, 15, a Benton Academy student, died of injuries Friday in an automobile accident on Mississippi 433 north near Bentonia. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 25, from the Lakewood Funeral Home in Jackson with burial in Lakewood Cemetery. Mr. Pittman, selected for Who's Who Among American High School Students, was a member of the football and track teams at his school. He was also a member of the Mississippi High School Rodeo Association and a member of the Scotland Baptist Church.

Survivors include his father, Jodie Phillips Sr. of Bentonia; brothers, Jodie Phillips Jr. and Justin Phillips, both of Bentonia; and grandparents, Charlie and Jane Prince of Jackson and Jackie Phillips of Jackson.
