Bessie Cewilma Davis, 97, of Winchester, passed away on Wednesday, January 23,2013 in the Randolph Nursing Home in Winchester.
She was born on September 13,1915 in Randolph County to Sylvester and Alta Coral (Fuller) Champ. She was a member of the Y's Owls for many years and had formerly attended the Winchester Friends Church. She enjoyed bowling and had been in leagues during the 1960's and 1970's. She also loved doing any sort of craft work.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Teresa (husband Mike) Sacksteder of Louisville, KY;three great-grandsons, Kevin Kohli of Jacksonville, FL., Jonathan (wife Maureen) Kohli of Honolulu, HI and Taylor Hardin of Hoonolulu, HI;two nieces, Wilma Jenkins and Esther McDaniels; a nephew, Bobby Van Note; and numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Harold Ward and John William Henry Davis; her son, Johnny Davis and her sister, Viola Mae Van Note.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester. Burial will be in Fountain Park Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives may call from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
