James Profitt succumbs at 97
James Earl Profitt, 97, died March 23 at his home on Little Cowan.
A son of the late Strawther M. and Rosa C. Hensley Profitt, he was the widower of Edna Profitt and later married Juanita Dickenson Profitt, who survives him.
He was the father of the late Carol Profitt and a brother of the late Lawrence T. Profitt, Claude Moore Profitt, Carl Profitt, Lou Emma Profitt, Della Leona Profitt, Loretta Profitt, Lavina Profitt, and Cuba Annetta Profitt.
Surviving are two daughters, Helen Doris Miller and husband Redford of Little Cowan, and Shelia Brown and husband Roger of Clintwood, Va.; two grandchildren, Benjamin Earl Miller and Samantha Parker, and Deanna Leigh Brown and husband Sean; and a greatgrandchild, Calvin Ross Miller.
Funeral services for Mr. Profitt were held March 26 at Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Whitesburg.
