Mrs. Janie Elizabeth Thompson, age 82, of Dalton, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Thursday January 24, 2013 at the Quinton Memorial Health Care.
She was born May 27, 1930 in Gilmer County, Georgia, a daughter of the late James and Odia Smith Tate. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, M.C. Fisher, brothers Max and Donald Tate.
She is survived by her husband, Jerome R. Thompson of Dalton, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Richard Fisher of Dalton, GA, Stephen and Regina Fisher of Florida; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Lamar Patton of Resaca, GA, Marie and Jerry Marlow of Ellijay, GA; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, several cousins.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Janie Elizabeth Thompson will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Joy Henderson and Reverend Alfred Freeman officiating. She will be laid to rest in the United Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday.
